Viewing your streams

Streams can be previewed from the management interface. In order to preview a stream go to the Streams panel and press the Preview button for the corresponding stream, you will be able to select multiple players and protocols.

Direct HTTP(S) URLs

Any stream within MistServer can also be quickly viewed using our default Meta-player by visiting the stream .html output. You can find that under the following syntax:

http(s)://address:port/streamname.html

Where

address corresponds to the address of the server running MistServer

port The corresponding HTTP or HTTPS port that is setup within Mistserver

streamname The stream name of the stream you wish to view

Keep in mind that HTTPS requires manual input and cannot be automatically set up by MistServer! To enable HTTPS please refer to:

Embedding the player on your website

Should you wish to include the preview player (with or without additional controls) you can find the embed code under the embed button. Keep in mind that changing the player settings will require you to copy the embed code again. The embed code itself should work in any environment that supports HTML code, however some webhosting solutions could strip out what makes it work. Feel free to contact us in that case!

Third party players

If you wish to use a third party player the direct stream URLs can be found at the bottom of the embed panel. Simply choose an output supported by your player and follow the instructions of your player.
